The gate is closed at all times.
During hours the gate is closed, the gate can be opened in the following ways
A car leaving the neighborhood.
The gate remotes that will open the gate.
Someone enters an entry code into the gate keypad.
When receiving a call from the gate, press '5' to open the gate.
To exit the neighborhood, Approach the gate slowly and when it starts moving, stop and wait for it to open fully.
There are 3 roads sensors around the gate as shown in the diagram below. To trigger the gate to open when exiting, road sensor #3 must be triggered. The other 2 sensors will not trigger the gate to open, but will only keep the gate open so that it doesn't close while driving through the gate. It is recommended that cars do not stop near the gate or sensors as this will typically hold the gate open. There is an area #4 where a car can stop and the gate will close, if this happens the car will need to back up to trigger the #3 road sensor.
Entry Codes are 5 digit numbers that can be entered on the gate's keypad to open the gate. Homes can request one or more Entry Code(s) that can be given out to individuals and businesses to allow them access to the neighborhood.
Contact the gate administrators to request a new Entry Code or to cancel an existing Entry Code. When requesting an Entry Code, you can ask for specific numbers to help in remembering them, but please provide multiple options in case an entry code is already in use.
The United States Postal Service has a standard key that will open the gate. FedEx, UPS, OnTrac, the Everett Herald, Waste Management, the PUD, APP, & Northern Energy have been provided entry codes. If there are other regular deliveries, or if one of the mentioned services has trouble with the gate, please contact a gate administrator.
The Fire Department has a special key to open the gate. The 911 dispatch has been given a code to use in a emergency (Police, ...).
The directory feature of the Gate keypad will contain a list of names of neighborhood members that a user can select. When the user enters the code of a name, it will call that neighbor and allow a conversation. If the neighbor wants to open the gate, they should press the 5 button on their phone which will terminate the call and open the gate. If the neighbor does not want the gate opened, they should hang up the call. The call will auto hangup after 60 seconds and the gate will not be opened.
Each home in the neighborhood will receive 2 remotes, additional remotes can be purchased for less than $20. Contact gate administrators to purchase one.
The remotes can be used to program most automobile's garage door opener buttons. See your automobile's user manual for details on programming a button. For my car, I was required to repeatedly press the remote button, holdiing 2s, while the card was in learn button.
The gate is adjusted to open when motorcycles drive over the exit sensor, but not to open for bicycles or trikes. If you find this to not be working as expected, please contact the gate administrators to schedule a time to adjust the sensitivity of the exit sensor.
The gate will automatically stop if it hits an obstruction. When this happens, it may also make a loud beep. If you hear the gate making a loud beeping sound, please contact a gate administrator immediately.
